What Opens in 2028
Via San Francesco Assisi will open in 2028 as a 4-star superior hotel diffuso. Number 48 — the former Hotel San Francesco, directly facing the Basilica — is being elevated to a standard befitting its extraordinary position. Number 19 — a former 14th-century convent with medieval foundations, Gothic arched windows, cross-vaulted ceilings, and a 17th-century fresco — is being restored under the supervision of the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage.
